Sanchez on Injury Report

The New York Jets have placed rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez on the injury report as his knee was bothering him. Reported as ” a little tendinitis” in his right knee, the Jets are playing cautious since being fined for Brett Favre’s allegations that he was playing hurt the end of last season but the Jets did not report it. Head coach Rex Ryan has stated that Sanchez will start against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. For more on the current status of Jets injuries, see this story.

Looks Like Jets are Too Late

The New York Jets are said to be interested in re-signing David Bowens, for a salary cut, after releasing him last month.  However, Bowens is leaning towards signing with the Cleveland Browns as he loves playing under head coach Eric Mangini.  Filling in for David Harris in 2008, Bowens did not disappoint.  For more, see this story.

News Flash-Jets Steal Another One

Breaking News-The New York Jets have grabbed another first string player away from the Baltimore Ravens.  Safety Jim Leonhard has signed a three year deal with the Jets. Leonhard will join Bart Scott who Rex Ryan signed away from the Ravens last week. The Denver Broncos made a last minute pitch for Leonhard but lost out to the New York Jets.  See this story for more details.

Jets Release Moore

The New York Jets announced that they could not come to terms with Brandon Moore and given him his release. Moore should be in high demand on the free agent market as he is an excellent guard. The Jets are releasing players to free up the salary cap so that they can yet make a big move in the free agent market. This story has more details.

Ryan Ponders Quarterback Slot

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has to choose a new quarterback now that Brett Favre will not be returning. Ryan is not worried, having won in the past without ’star’ or ‘name’ quarterbacks.
