Mark Sanchez was outstanding in the New York Jets final mini camp. Sanchez had just signed a five year deal reportedly worth up to 60 million, with a New York Jets record 28 million guaranteed. Leon Washington has reported to the New York Jets off season practices, according to his agent, as an act of good faith. Washington is unhappy that he is stuck to his rookies contact and not earning the big bucks he feels he is entitled too. I wonder how many athletes, if they were they were not performing to the level they paid for would agree to a salary cut. Not any, I don’t think. Certainly Washington is worht more than he is being paid right now, but I guess a contact doesn’t mean much anymore, and he doesn’t want to wait until his contact is up to renegotiate.
