The New York Jets have signed cornerback Donald Strickland. Strickland is a veteran who played this past three season for the San Francisco Forty Niners. Terms of the deal were not yet available.  See this story for more.

The New York Jets announced they have matched the Cleveland Browns offer to safety Abram Elam. Elam had filled in last season for Eric Smith who was injured. Elam turned in an excellent performance for 2008. See this story for more details.

Another Raven Joins the Jets

THe New York Jets have signed ex Baltimore Raven Marques Douglas. The defensive end played under Rex Ryan and is of course familiar with his ways of running the defense. Marques played the position as a backup last season. For more, see this story.

Looks Like Jets are Too Late

The New York Jets are said to be interested in re-signing David Bowens, for a salary cut, after releasing him last month.  However, Bowens is leaning towards signing with the Cleveland Browns as he loves playing under head coach Eric Mangini.  Filling in for David Harris in 2008, Bowens did not disappoint.  For more, see this story.

The New York Jets have announced plans to lay off some 60 offie people for two weeks this summer without pay. How they can rationalize this after all the money they just spent on free agents is har to figure. Needless to say, many are in an uproar over this. News Flash-Jets Steal Another One

Breaking News-The New York Jets have grabbed another first string player away from the Baltimore Ravens.  Safety Jim Leonhard has signed a three year deal with the Jets. Leonhard will join Bart Scott who Rex Ryan signed away from the Ravens last week. The Denver Broncos made a last minute pitch for Leonhard but lost out to the New York Jets.  See this story for more details.
